Heat Pumps
Anderson Floor Warming are at the forefront of developments in renewable energy design, and have achieved BRE Microgeneration accreditation for heat pump installations, giving greater consumer protection, and allowing us to process grant applications.
Environmental awareness, building regulations, planning policies, rising fuel bills, and grants for up to 30% of costs, now make renewable energy sources an increasingly popular and viable solution. Using a company like Anderson Floor Warming, who can design and install a complete package of renewable energy source and heating / plumbing system, ensures full co-ordination and a single point of responsibility – critical for smooth running of your project and effective long term use.
Systems using heat pumps should be designed to give a large volume of water at low temperature, and as such are ideal for use with Anderson Floor Warming's underfloor heating.
Ground Source Heat Pumps

Ground source heat pumps are one of the fastest growing, yet already long established, renewable energy sources. They are electrically powered systems, which utilise the largely unexploited resource of the earth's relatively constant temperature to make use of energy from the ground heat to provide space heating, cooling and hot water.
Most commonly GSHP's are indirect systems where a water/antifreeze solution circulates through a ground loop or bore collector and energy is transferred to or from the heat pump refrigerant circuit via a heat exchanger. This is then transferred to the heating and hot water system in the property.
Air Source Heat Pumps

In properties where it is not possible to install a ground source heat pump, an air source heat pump can be used. Slightly less efficient than ground source heat pumps, air source heat pumps still deliver excellent efficiency levels.
Air source heat pumps extract heat from the external ambient air and transfer it to your heating and hot water system.

Grants
There are grants available to those installing heat pumps in their property through an MCS accredited installer like Anderson Floor Warming Ltd.
In Scotland, for existing property owners wishing to install a heat pump, there is a grant of 30% up to £4,000 available from the Home Renewables Grant Scheme.
Anderson Floor Warming can provide free quotes for, and assist in, the application of these grants. Please get in touch with us to discuss getting a quote and check our links page for more information on grants and funding available.
Renewable Heat Incentive
Being introduced in April 2011, the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) proposes to pay a set amount each year to those who replace their current existing fossil fuel heating system with a renewable technology, like a heat pump. These payments are based on an estimated figure depending on the size and age of the property and the technology used. More information can be found at the Renewable Heat Incentive website.
