Air Source Heat Pumps

air source heat pump

In properties where it is not possible to install a ground source heat pump, an air source heat pump can be used. Slightly less efficient than ground source heat pumps, air source heat pumps still deliver excellent efficiency levels.

Air source heat pumps extract heat from the external ambient air and transfer it to your heating and hot water system.

Please visit our suppliers websites for more detailed information on the products we install. (Links on the right hand side of the page)

Grants

There may be grants available to those installing heat pumps in their property through an MCS accredited installer like Anderson Floor Warming Ltd.

Anderson Floor Warming can provide free estimates for, and assist in, the application of these grants. Please get in touch with us to discuss getting a quote and check our links page for more information on grants and funding available.

Renewable Heat Incentive

After numerous delays this is due to be introduced October 2012 for households, the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) proposes to pay a set amount each year to those who replace their current existing fossil fuel heating system with a renewable technology, like a heat pump. These payments are based on an estimated figure depending on the size and age of the property and the technology used. More information can be found at the Renewable Heat Incentive website and Energy Saving Scotland.

Renewable Heat Premium Payment

Before the RHI is introduced the Renewable Heat Premium Payment is to run from 1st August 2011 to 31st March 2012. This is an interim payment until the full RHI domestic scheme starts in 2012. The Single Premium Payment is available for installations from 21st July 2011, where the property does not currently use gas as the main heating fuel. The payments available are as follows.

£850 air source heat pump
£1250 ground source or water source heat pump

More info on applying for the RHPP can be found at Energy Saving Scotland.
